Alana’s Journey
From survival to expression, from silence to voice.
I didn’t set out to become an artist—I turned to art when words failed me. In moments of chaos, confusion, and emotional noise, painting became a lifeline. It was never about perfection or prettiness—it was about truth. About survival. About finding some small place in this world where I could exist as I was: unfiltered, raw, and real.
Over time, that space grew into something more. My canvas became a mirror for others—for the ones who’ve been through trauma, who’ve fought to reclaim their identity, who carry anxiety like a second skin but still show up. For the ones who have felt invisible and yet hold so much power beneath the surface.
My work blends surreal figures, gritty cityscapes, and emotional symbolism to reflect the depth of modern life—especially for those who’ve had to rebuild themselves more than once. I paint what I feel. I create what I need. And in doing so, I hope to offer something real for others who feel deeply too.
What began as a private process became a calling. Since 2020, I’ve been building a body of work that speaks to resilience, emotional truth, and identity—through original paintings, prints, wearable art, and grounding fidget jewelry. My creations have been featured in events like the 2025 Love Is In The Air Exhibit at Neilson Park Creative Centre, and I’m currently preparing for my first solo exhibition in 2026.
This is more than art—it’s a place to feel seen.

ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is rooted in emotional honesty. I paint the quiet moments, the heavy ones, and the ones that leave a mark—blending surreal figures with city edge to reflect the depth of everyday experience.
Each piece is a response to life as it is: layered, imperfect, and full of feeling. I’m drawn to the stories people carry—the tension between vulnerability and strength—and I bring those stories to life through color, form, and texture.
From canvas to clothing to grounding jewelry, my art is a way to connect—with yourself, with your experiences, and with something real.
This is work made for those who feel deeply, live with intention, and seek meaning in the mess.
MY APPROACH
I work at the intersection of emotion and environment—blending figurative forms, surreal elements, and urban textures to tell stories that feel lived-in and real. My process is intuitive, led by mood, memory, and moments that stay with me..
Each piece is built through contrast: softness and grit, isolation and connection, clarity and distortion. I use acrylics, mixed media, and wearable formats to translate these emotional tensions into something visual—and, at times, wearable..
This is a practice rooted in empathy, shaped by lived experience, and open to interpretation. I create from a place of feeling first, technique second—inviting the viewer to see not just what’s on the canvas, but what’s in themselves.
